Two Months..
(Warning..the following is the rambling of a gushing new mom. I apologize in advance :-)
It's been two months today since we brought our sweet Ava home! Two months ago our lives changed forever. We knew that some obvious things would happen: sleep would not be entirely essential, laundry would become a never ending process, and diaper duty would be decided on a "rock/paper/scissor" competition. What I didn't expect were the changes in me. After many years of yearning to be a mother, here I am, truly blessed to have the title and all the beautiful gifts that come along with it. Those who have been along with me on this journey can see the smiles on my face because Ava is finally home, but those smiles pale in comparison to the huge smiles in my heart. She has opened and healed my heart in so many ways. My heart has become filled with so much love. It is hard to explain other than to say my heart finally feels complete. I am not sure if that makes sense, but it is truly an amazing feeling!
We often hear how fortunate Ava is to have such loving parents. In truth however, we really are the fortunate ones. Ava is such a blessing and gives us more joy than we ever thought possible. Thank you Ava for these last two months of pure joy. We love you so much!! You are one special little girl..
Here are some pics from the last couple of days. Ava is still feeling pretty crummy and is now on antibiotics for an ear infection. Poor sweety! Jim came down with the same thing on Saturday and has been laid up since. They both look so sad. They spent the morning in bed watching Hi-5 and snuggling. It was soo sweet!
Poor Ava's fever had just broken and she was dripping in sweat..

She may be sick, but the hammock is usually good for a few smiles!
