The good, the bad and the downright scary...

So Ava's hair was not the only bad thing that happened today. She had her 1 year check up with her pediatrician today. She is doing great and right on target for her growth and development. She is 19lbs 9oz. and is 28". That is the good news. The bad news is she had to get 3 (yes 3) shots! Poor sweetie didn't know what hit her. She recovered surprisingly quickly and was smiling and giggling in no time. That was until Daddy asked her where her "owie's" were and her recent trauma came flooding back to her, as did the tears.

We attempted to make amends by taking her to "Rainforest Cafe" on the way home. She loved it! Well, she loved most of it. Daddy learned the hard way that putting Ava anywhere near the swinging Anaconda is ill advised. Also, she is not a huge fan of ginormous frogs anywhere near her face. All in all, Ava had quite the exhausting day.

Hey guys whats with all the attention? And by the way, what happened to my clothes?

What the heck?!!! Who is that lady and what did I ever do to her?

Okay, now we are talking about some good times!

"So let me get this straight?!...You take me to a place
where they stick a needle in me 3 times...and now
there is a giant frog in my face??!! Really?!"

So what kind of country is this? They have these people running around with needles and these giant frogs. Where I come from, the only needles they have are knitting needles and all the frogs are smaller then my foot.

I knew she was getting heavey! Audrey and Spencer feel for you about the needles, they did say you will get used to the walking frogs, dogs, mice, princesses. They will turn out to be kind of fun, There is even a talking Sponge at the fair this weeekend.

I'm glad Ava's bad day is over. But . . . only three shots? Johanna got five at her one year appointment and had blood taken. Not fun!!
