Since summer is now officially over, the active album on our picture site for random everyday photos is 'Ava vol. II' (link on the right)....
Other Albums coming up: Camping 08 (if the weather cooperates next weekend) and...Kaua'i 08!! (Yes, in 25 days Ava will make 165 other passengers on Alaska Airlines flight 853 to Kaua'i, Hawaii very upset with all the screaming :-)...should be a fun adventure. It will be her first plane trip since coming home from Guatemala. (she screamed a little on that flight too)

Also FYI, Ava's current vocabulary: Dog, Dada, Mama, Gum (?), Guitar (pronounced g-ta), eye, hi, (strangely similar to eye) guh-ma (grandma) and kitty cat (key-cat...still whispered) and also: Dot (when pointing at Mommy's freckles)

not to be overlooked...'please' and 'all gone'...done by 'signing':O) She tried to tell a little girl (18 months) yesterday at meeting to 'please' give me back by pacha cover...didn't translate well...the little girl just looked at her with wonder??? I think she tried to say 'watch' too when Grandma Nana had her...she pointed to her watch and said...'waa'...

and hello!?? When did she start saying Mama and Dada??!! Where've I been??? Right here...on Thursdays weekly:O) Have you tried to get her to say 'hippopatamus' yet...should work on that before we get to Kauai...25 more days!

Today was Ava's first visit to the Zoo. She loved it! A lot of arm waiving and leg kicking. Not a ton of smiles, because she was probably overwhelmed. We could tell she really enjoyed it though, we can only imagine what goes through the mind of a ten month old baby when a 2000 lb walrus swims by 10 inches from her face. Click here for pics. 2 yrs ago we were doing this....

Two years have flown by, but the feelings of contentment and amazement just grow stronger and stronger. We are off to Seabrook for the weekend to play in the sand and and reminisce. We are truly, truly blessed! Not much has changed in the packing department :-)
