The true journey began..

(Warning..the following is one of a series of reflective gushing's from a mom totally in love. It will be one mushy week)

..a year ago today! A year ago today we were boarding a plane to pick up Ava and start the adventures of parenting. After years of yearning and months of waiting for new pics, updates and final approval we were going to have our daughter home with us forever. It was then that the true sense of being a mother took hold. Since then I have tried to take in every moment. Embracing the ups the downs and all of the greatness in between. Ava has brought us so much joy! She has filled our hearts and completed our family in a truly amazing way. I dreamt and imagined what it would be like to be a mother for so long, but the crazy thing is, the reality is better than even my vivid imagination could conjure up. It is real and is amazing! The best part? This amazing journey is just beginning. I feel so blessed...

The crazy thing for us is we chose not to dream but remained content to wait and see.

But now, WOW!!! We're crazy in love.

Sometimes we just talk about Ava because she brings us such happiness.

Some thoughts from Papa Tom,

We just knew that if and when the time came that you became parents, you would be the perfect parents. We were right. It's so much fun watching you and being a part of this wonderful blessing and it brings us great joy.

Our trip to Guatemala was exciting in so many ways. When I first saw Ava in person I knew she was one special girl. She has brought so much into all of our lives.
I knew what a wonderful parents you both would be. The three of you make up a beautiful family. I look forward to the many years we get to watch her grow.
