Weekend getaway...

We had Ava's 2yr pics done by the same photographer we used last year, Mandi. She moved to Centralia a few months back, so we decided to make a weekend of it and spent the night before in Portland. We had a blast!! I kept forgetting it was Halloween on Saturday, so when the "Magnum P.I." valet wanted to help us with our bags and take our keys, I has more than a little hesitant :-) Not to mention the zombies and monsters roaming the downtown streets of Portland. I can't imagine what Ava must have been thinking! We went to a really cool Morroccan restaurant for dinner. We sat on couches under a tent and attempted to eat with our fingers (we opted for forks eventually). Ava loved it! She wasn't super fond of the food, but she tried almost everything and was a real trooper. We met with Mandi on Sunday, for Ava's photo session. The weather turned out to be gorgeous. It was a bit chilly, but it was perfect for her fall photo session. She did a great job and was very tolerant of mommy's multiple dressing changes. Apparently you give a girl some a honey nut cheerios and she is more than happy to accommodate just about anything. It was so much fun and such a great memory!! Here are some highlights of our weekend:

Ava was in desperate need of a haircut, so Friday night she got her new do'. Baby browns are visible again. Yay!!
