How did time...
fly by soo quickly? The year waiting for Ava to come home seemed like an eternity. We waited day by day, month by month for a small glimpse of how our little girl was doing. Was she gaining weight? Was she getting more hair? Had she started smiling yet? Is she eating well? Is she sleeping through the night yet? These were all things we waited to hear about. Well, another year has passed since she has come home. We don't ever have to wait for those updates. We have the privilege of experiencing those things first hand and better yet, we get to play a part in her growth and development. We get to watch her grow from a serious minded baby, to a care free, silly and strong willed toddler. We get to watch her learn and grow and become more and more confidant with new things and adventures. We get to feel the warmth of her hugs and feel the sadness in her tears. We witness her everyday, learn something new and get to celebrate in all of her accomplishments. We get to be part of her journey. These are privileges that some may take for granted, but not me. This beautiful little girl is a true blessing and gift. I can't get enough of her giggles, smiles and hugs. Being her mother is something that I waited patiently (or not so patiently) for, and now I have the privilege of spending every day being just that, her mother.
