Reflection...

Warning: The following is the ramblings of a sleep deprived, truly in love, new mom...
Today we are dealing with a beautiful 1yr old miracle that is breaking in both of her 1yr old molars in one fell swoop. It is both exhausting and heartbreaking(yes, I know I am being dramatic). As hard as it is to see her in pain and as difficult as it is to lose some much needed sleep for all, I can't help but reflect on what an amazing gift we have to be a part of all of this. These "milestones" are so easily taken for granted, but not for me. These "milestones" are what makes being a mother such a blessing. A fellow blogger wrote the following that really rang true to how I am feeling right now:

"Today it seems so unfair that just when life becomes so amazing it also becomes so fleeting. If only we could linger in the moments that make these precious memories that much longer. If only we could touch them, feel them, smell them, know them for just a minute longer than they actually last. Perhaps then it would all be enough. But I have this feeling when I look at my daughter that it will never be enough. We could spend a hundred lifetimes enjoying and exploring and discovering one another and I would still wish for more. Because I don't know that I will ever have enough when it comes to her.I'm beginning to think that this is what parenthood is all about.Hanging on.Letting go.And lingering for as long as our hearts will let us. "

It is my hope that I never take for granted all of Ava's milestones, but that I embrace all of the gifts she has given us. She is changing and growing so fast I am desperate not to miss a thing.
