Our source of joy...

Despite our feelings of sadness and loss this past week, there have been some happy moments from our ray of sunshine: Ava. We like to remember how much joy she brought to GG in her final weeks...her face lit up when she saw Ava, saying "there's my sweet heart!" whenever we visited her. We also like to think that Ava understood that GG was sick, and that her only job was to make her Great-Grandma smile. Ava was very gentle with her and gave her besos (kisses) and hugs. Just two weeks ago Grandma (GG) tried to get up and make sure Ava did not fall down as she was walking every where. They were really sweet together. Below are some highlights from our shining star...

Our little baby girl..

Is not so little anymore. Mommy was worried about Ava's "impaired vision", due to ever-increasing bangs, so she broke down and Ava got her first haircut. Ava did great! Mommy is a little sad that her baby is looking soo grown up.

Ava also had her 16month well baby check up. She is now almost 22lbs and 29inches tall. This was before her 4 (yes, four) shots.

This was after...she did perk up when her nurse pulled out the "magic" cookies. With tears still in her eyes, she signed "thank you" to her nurse for the delightful treat. That brought tears to mommies eyes.

She recovered remarkably well...what a precious sweetie!!!
