Soo totally two!!

Our sweet Ava is definitely acting her age, and while it has it's share of drama and melt downs, mostly it is just plain hysterical!!! This girl is such a crack up. She is talking up a storm and can certainly get her point across. Last night she wanted to watch Hi5, so she said: "Hi5 two time all done". Her point? "I would like to watch Hi5 two times and then I will be all done", and she was! Crazy, I know! She has become quite the big helper too. Whether it is helping unload the groceries or putting her clothes away, she must help and will not take no for an answer :-) Trust me I have tried! We are also starting to feel very "fall like" around here. Football has started, the clouds are rolling back in and pumpkin pie is back at Costco (the last one very important!) Anyway, Ava had her first taste of pumpkin pie last night. At first she was not too sure (as the below pics show), but it definitely became a hit! Below are some highlights of the past couple of days:

Ava told daddy:"I gonna go to work now" and she did. She takes her self imposed "jobs" very seriously. I am not sure if she was trying to help or planning her escape, but either way, super cute and soo funny!!

OK, she handles that screwdriver like a pro. Where did she learn that from Daddy or Mommy?

Pumpkin Pie? How much can she have each week Mommy. Maybe Grandpa and Grandma can have some with her.

Tumbling and playa-latte...

It has been a fun couple of days. Yesterday was tumbling day. They are starting to work on a "routine" for a recital in June. It is soo funny! They work on there steps and moves, and all seems to be ok, then the teacher turns on the music and all havoc breaks loose! They have a bunch of toddlers in there own world hopping around and running everywhere! Total chaos. It is totally priceless :-) Ava loves it so much and I love watching her get so excited. Super cute! The rain boots have yet to see a drop of rain. They have pretty much become glorified house shoes. Ava wears them with everything! Today we went to a cool place called "Playa-latte". It is a fun play place for kids and serves coffee for the moms. It is a perfect place for the kids to burn off some energy while the moms catch up. Ava's partner in crime, Jake, came with us. Three years ago today....

This amazing miracle entered our life. She was just three days old when we first set eyes on our little sweetie. She has been our joy and blessing ever since. I am so grateful to be Ava's mommy! She brightens the day and warms the heart of every one she come in contact with. Watching her grow, learn and become such a beautiful little girl is a privilege and a gift I will cherish forever. We love you soo much our sweet little Ava!

The true journey began..

(Warning..the following is one of a series of reflective gushing's from a mom totally in love. It will be one mushy week) ..a year ago today! A year ago today we were boarding a plane to pick up Ava and start the adventures of parenting. After years of yearning and months of waiting for new pics,updates and final approval we were going to have our daughter home with us forever. It was then that the true sense of being a mother took hold. Since then I have tried to take in every moment. Embracing the ups the downs and all of the greatness in between. Ava has brought us so much joy! She has filled our hearts and completed our family in a truly amazing way. I dreamt and imagined what it would be like to be a mother for so long, but the crazy thing is, the reality is better than even my vivid imagination could conjure up. It is real and is amazing! The best part? This amazing journey is just beginning. I feel so blessed...
