Yup, we are still here...

So sorry we have been absent on the blog lately. So many things have happened (mostly all good) that, as time goes by, the thought of playing "catch up" seems a bit overwhelming. That has not kept us from taking a bazillion pics on our picture site, so hopefully you all have caught on to that, and have been able to see all of our amazing adventures of late. There have been zoo trips, parades, dance showcases, basement remodels and of course baseball games. We have also posted a lot of quick little updates on facebook, but I realize not everyone that follows our blog is on FB, so I promise to try harder at posting more of our adventures and more of Ava's crazy antics:-)

I have also started up a personal project/challenge for myself. It is called the 365 Project. I am challenging myself to take one picture per day for 365 days. The subjects can be whatever inspires me, and we all know who is my primary source of inspiration, but the goal of this project for me is to get my creative juices flowing and see what, in addition to Miss Ava, inspires me. I am really excited to see what comes of this and I think it will be fun to look back at my year of pictures to see my own personal growth and development as a novice photog. We know how life gets, and almost everything is more important and worthy of our time than blogging, so no worries! We do check the picture site almost daily and love keeping up with you that way. Looking forward to following your new project!

Tumbling and playa-latte...

It has been a fun couple of days. Yesterday was tumbling day. They are starting to work on a "routine" for a recital in June. It is soo funny! They work on there steps and moves, and all seems to be ok, then the teacher turns on the music and all havoc breaks loose! They have a bunch of toddlers in there own world hopping around and running everywhere! Total chaos. It is totally priceless :-) Ava loves it so much and I love watching her get so excited. Super cute! The rain boots have yet to see a drop of rain. They have pretty much become glorified house shoes. Ava wears them with everything! Today we went to a cool place called "Playa-latte". It is a fun play place for kids and serves coffee for the moms. It is a perfect place for the kids to burn off some energy while the moms catch up. Ava's partner in crime, Jake, came with us. Three years ago today....

This amazing miracle entered our life. She was just three days old when we first set eyes on our little sweetie. She has been our joy and blessing ever since. I am so grateful to be Ava's mommy! She brightens the day and warms the heart of every one she come in contact with. Watching her grow, learn and become such a beautiful little girl is a privilege and a gift I will cherish forever. We love you soo much our sweet little Ava!

The true journey began..

(Warning..the following is one of a series of reflective gushing's from a mom totally in love. It will be one mushy week) ..a year ago today! A year ago today we were boarding a plane to pick up Ava and start the adventures of parenting. After years of yearning and months of waiting for new pics,updates and final approval we were going to have our daughter home with us forever. It was then that the true sense of being a mother took hold. Since then I have tried to take in every moment. Embracing the ups the downs and all of the greatness in between. Ava has brought us so much joy! She has filled our hearts and completed our family in a truly amazing way. I dreamt and imagined what it would be like to be a mother for so long, but the crazy thing is, the reality is better than even my vivid imagination could conjure up. It is real and is amazing! The best part? This amazing journey is just beginning. I feel so blessed...
